Organising Improbable Dialogue: A Field Guide is a practitioner-friendly resource developed by Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) out of four years of peacebuilding work in Cameroon’s conflict-affected Northwest and Southwest regions. The guide introduces “Improbable Dialogue,” a structured, youth-led approach that deliberately brings together people who would rarely share the same room, from bike riders and local business owners to politicians and civil society leaders, to collaboratively address the root causes of conflict. Covering everything from participant selection and stakeholder mapping to facilitation techniques, games, and real case studies from communities like Bamenda, Tole, and Kupe-Muanenguba, the guide equips peacebuilders, NGOs, and community facilitators with a step-by-step framework for designing inclusive dialogue processes that move beyond one-off events toward sustained, transformative social change.
