Today, Friday, July 5th, 2024, athletes and participants in the 3rd edition of the NA-WE-We
Sports Jamboree will unite at the esplanade of Lycee Technique Canada, Bafoussam, for a camping day. This event will provide an opportunity for the athletes to bond, engage in team-building activities, and prepare for the opening of the sports jamboree. It promises to be a day filled with fun, togetherness, and memorable experiences for all involved.
The day’s activities will be marked by the arrival and orientation of the 500 athletes who will participate in this 2-month jamboree carried out by Loyoc and Minjec. Eventually, athletes will be dispatched to carry out community cleaning campaigns in specified areas, including the governor’s office, SDO, DO I, II, and 3, City Council, inter-ministerial offices, and regional delegations, amongst others.
This camping initiative by Local Youth Corner Cameroon and her partners, held under the
distinguished patronage of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, will furthermore facilitate registration for elections of athletes by ELECAM, host a peer-to-peer dialogue session for athletes, free health screening and consultation, and a peace walk that will be symbolised by the lighting of the peace fire. The camp night will culminate in jersey distribution, and other
fun bonding activities for athletes. Through these activities athletes will also have the opportunity to interact with local officials and community members, fostering a sense of unity and partnership. This day of preparation will set the stage for a successful and impactful sports jamboree that will showcase the talents and foster togetherness among the displaced persons and host community members involved.
After this camping activity, athletes will then participate in the official opening ceremony of this
year’s edition of the Na We-We Sports Jamboree is slated for the following day, July 6, 2024, at
Lycee Classique de Baffousam promises to be exciting with sports, entertainment, food, and
memorable side events.
