We are pleased to report that our recent press conference effectively laid the groundwork for the upcoming Na We We Sports Jamboree, drawing active participation from our partners, media representatives, and key stakeholders. This event underscores our ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment.
Tiko: Our Chosen Host City
This year’s Jamboree will be hosted in Tiko, a choice that emerged from several compelling factors. Tiko distinguished itself over Ebolowa in the South Region and Maroua in the Far North Region due to its exemplary preparedness, strong youth mobilisation, and the unwavering interest expressed by local elected officials.
Achaleke stated, “By selecting Tiko, the gateway into the South West, we envision fostering innovation within the region. This edition will leverage the creative strengths of Tiko, including its entrepreneurship and movie industry.”
The Jamboree aims to deepen community trust and dialogue—essential in a region facing security challenges. Achaleke further emphasised our commitment to mobilising local partners to implement indigenous solutions for immediate community needs while establishing benchmarks for best practices.
A Call for Social Cohesion
The 5th edition of the Na We We Sports Jamboree will also serve as a platform to develop a national guide on utilising sports to promote social cohesion. This initiative is integral to our mission and aligns with our thematic focus: “Stronger Together in Times of Crisis Through Sports.”
Mokoko Tanga John, the Youth Senator of Fako, represented Mayor Chief Peter Messoso III at the press conference, affirming the municipality’s readiness to host this important event.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, media, stakeholders, and well-wishers for your ongoing support as we prepare for an impactful Jamboree in Tiko. Together, we are committed to fostering unity and resilience through sports.
